Crucification of Issa in Quran

The crucifixion of Issa is described in verses 3:55, 4:157-158, and 5:117. His death and resurrection are also described in 19:33-34.

Let's first read: Quran 4:157-158

So, from this verse we understand that Allah is the one who made appear Issa as crucified to the unbelivers. And Allah raised Issa up to him. But it did not specify soul or just body.

When you look at this verse we can see someone is boasting that we killed the Messiah. Who are they?

"Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah"

And when we see other verses we can see Allah is the one who kills people and not his people in the Qur'an (8:17)

This verse is speaking to the jihadists/mujahadeen who were boasting of killing Muhammad’s enemies. They were told that they did not kill them. There is no doubt that at the battle of Badr the jihadists did kill people, but the Qur’an interprets it differently and says they did not kill them. This is similar to how the Qur’an speaks about the crucifixion.

Now read: The Qur'an (3:169)

From this we understand that Allah doesn't allow who are actually killed or dead in the way of Allah to say dead, but rather to say they are alive with Allah.

Now let's read The Qur'an (3:157-158)

Allah is saying in the above verse is that after a person is killed or die, he will be gathered to Allah.

So even if a person die or killed in the way of Allah, no one should say there are dead and eveyone should accept that they are alive with their Allah and Allah is the one who gather who is killed or dead.

This actually confirms the death of Issa in Quran 4:157-158.

Now let's see the next verses about issa's crusification. The Qur'an (3:55)

Read The Qur'an (5:117)

The Arabic word translated as take/took is mutawaffa. This word means God taking your soul in death. And we can see these words been used in Surah's 2:234, 2:240, 3:193, 4:15, 4:97, 6:60, 6:61, 7:37, 7:126, 8:50, 10:46, 10:104, 12:101, 13:40, 16:28, 16:32, 16:70, 22:5, 32:11, 39:42, 40:67, 40:77, 47:27

You can see, on every occasion, mutawaffa, means taking the soul in death.

Now when you read The Qur'an (19:33-34)

Notice the order of the life of Issa, day of born, day of death and AFTER that the day he raised. So these all claims that Issa in Quran has crucified and resurrected by Allah.
